All ARTWORKs
The series Where earth meets water is about the connection between everything on Earth. A large part of the Earth is made up of water and the other large part is land. Where earth meets the water is on the beach, that’s why Vera made artworks inspired by the beach and the ocean.
Some of the artworks are inspired by the beach. They have all the color shades of the sand; white, beige, yellow and red. They also have many gold and bronze details to feel the warmth of the sun. The other part of the artworks are inspired by the ocean. These paintings are made with dark blue, green, purple and black colors to show the deepest parts of the ocean. To these paintings Vera also added lighter details with pearl paint and composition gold leaf to let the sunlight shine from above into the ocean. When the light shines on the artworks, they will shine.
Vera has added a lot of sand to these paintings, which gives the paintings more depth. In order to represent the beach theme as realistically as possible, in addition to mixing sand with the paint, she also added shells and oysters to the canvas. Vera hopes that the viewer feels the connection between water and earth and all the beauty of nature.
The sun is a very inspiring planet, without it we wouldn’t be able to live. For this series Vera was inspired by the sunset. It’s fascinating when the sun sets in the sea, all the colors of the sky change. The entire sky changes from blue to yellow, orange, red, pink, purple. It is also called the golden hour.
In these paintings Vera added many golden details. She wants to give the viewer that warm and happy summer feeling. When the sunlight shines on the paintings, the golden details shine bright.
Vera’s inspiration for this art series came from nature, from all the beautiful flowers out there. In spring Vera enjoys the cheerful and colorful flowers everywhere. Flowers make her happy. Spring is like rebirth. Everything starts to grow again and flowers are in bloom.
Vera tried to capture flowers on the canvas in an abstract way. With these paintings she wants to give the viewer a happy feeling, just like hers in spring.
For this series Vera was inspired by the beauty of nature. By the smaller things in life like flowers and plants but also by the bigger things like animals, the ocean and the mountains. Vera got her inspiration from everyday life. From all the flowers next to the road, the animals in parks and the water of nearby lakes. Also she made a painting inspired by a trip to the mountains.
Vera started this series on high school. In 2014 the first painting was made. After finishing high school she kept painting and continued this series. With these paintings she hopes to inspire people to see how many beautiful things there are in the world.
